For those who are thinking of listing their home in the spring of 2020, here are a few tips to keep in mind as you think about the process:
1. Find a Realtor. Pick a Realtor you like and trust, and meet with them as soon as possible. They’ll sit down with you and review the condition of the house and see if there are any improvements worth making before your sale.
2. Stage your home. Your Realtor will give you advice about preparing your home for the market, which might involve moving things around to maximize the appearance of your home.

3. Figure out your price. By taking a look at what comparable homes in your neighborhood are selling for, your Realtor can help you pick a competitive price for your listing. This will also help you determine what kind of equity you have in the house.

It’s important to do this quickly because we’ve noticed that the spring market has been starting earlier and earlier each year. To beat the competition, you’ll probably want to have your home on the market in January or February.
